- The pair of wins over the Tigers also improved the Cougars' record in The American to 8-0, the first time that has happened since the turn of the century.
- One of the reasons for Houston's success this season has been its strong starts, as the Cougars have held a 2-0 match lead in all but four of its contests this spring. Houston is 9-1 this season when leading after two sets and 15-3 in the David Rehr era on such occasions.
- On March 8, junior Torie Frederick was named The American Defensive Player of the Week and freshman Annie Cooke was awarded The American Offensive Player of the Week, making Houston the first school to sweep the conference's weekly awards since SMU on Oct. 24, 2016.
- In just her second season donning a Houston uniform, sophomore Abbie Jackson has put up numbers that standout not just in The American, but throughout the country as well. Her 4.70 kills per set and 5.45 points per set each rank ninth and eighth in the nation, respectively.
