Jazmaine Lewis Named The American Player of the Week

Cougar sophomore just shy of double-double at Tulsa
HOUSTON – University of Houston Women's Basketball sophomore forward, Jazmaine Lewis, was tabbed as The American Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. Freshman guard Laila Blair was rewarded for her efforts with a selection to the Honor Roll.
Lewis helped the Cougars earn their second straight come-from-behind victory after going 5-of-7 from the field, with 12 points and nine rebounds. The sophomore forward was one rebound shy of her second career double -double.
Blair had a stellar night for UH, matching her career-high in points with 16 in addition to a career-best seven rebounds and four assists. She led the Cougar offense, hitting two three-pointers.
The award marks the first Player of the Week accolade for UH this season and the first of Lewis' career.
