Houston Unveils 2021 Schedule

Cougars to host 25 home games
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Softball program and Head Coach Kristin Vesely revealed its 2021 schedule on Monday.

Houston's 51-game schedule features 14 games against seven opponents who appeared in the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Preseason Poll, which includes the Cougars welcoming Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana to Cougar Softball Stadium. In total, the Cougars are slated to host 25 home games.

"This year we were able to overcome some scheduling challenges early to have a balanced schedule and one that prepares for the postseason," Vesely said. "We are on the road more than normal this year and are really excited for the opportunity to travel playing top opponents.

"We have a handful of games against World Series caliber teams, and those games will give us time to measure up, get better and compete for a conference championship."

5 – Head Coach Kristin Vesely enters her fifth season at the helm of the program, having increased the Cougars' win total in every full season
9 – Houston is scheduled to play nine opponents who appeared in the 2019 NCAA Regionals
10 – Houston returns 10 players from 2020 that ranked fifth in the nation in home runs
14 – Houston will play 14 games against seven preseason Top-25 opponents
26 – Houston is scheduled to compete in 26 games away from Cougar Softball Stadium
