Five Student-Athletes Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

HOUSTON – Five student-athletes of the University of Houston Softball program earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, the organization announced.

Seniors Paris Lehman and Mandy Esman, as well as sophomores Isabel Cintron, Maddie Hartley and Nevaeh Brown all earned the award for the first time in their careers. Hartley was also selected as a CSC Academic All-America finalist and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.

In her redshirt-senior season, Lehman made 26 appearances with two starts in the circle, tossing 44.2 innings with 15 strikeouts while earning two wins and a save. She also reached a career milestone 100 strikeouts against Iowa State on March 22.

As a senior, Esman served as a team leader with 46 appearances and 42 starts in the infield, posting a .268/.305/.415 slash with 33 hits, 19 RBIs, 16 runs and three homers. Esman joined Lehman in achieving career milestones this season, as she earned her 100^thcareer hit against Iowa State on March 21.

Cintron shined as the team's primarily catcher this season, appearing in 47 games with 44 starts. As a sophomore, she recorded a .264/.400/.407 slash while tallying 24 hits, 16 RBIs, 15 runs and four homers on the year as well as tossing out seven runners caught stealing, ranking fourth in the Big 12.

Hartley became the eighth player to win the Cougar triple crown, hitting .345 along with 50 hits, 20 homers, 47 RBIs, 35 runs and 10 doubles. She also recorded the second-highest single-season home run total in program history (20), becoming only the second Cougar to hit 20+ homers in a single season since Haley Outon's 22 in 2012.

In the circle, Brown made 39 appearances with 26 starts, tossing 125.1 innings with 84 strikeouts while producing five complete games with four coming via shutout, along with nine wins and two saves on the year. She produced 12 scoreless appearances as well as seven hitless outings and six walk-less games.

ABOUT THE AWARD
The 2026 Academic All-District Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on June 16.
