SCOUTING THE SEMINOLES. Florida State is currently 6-3 during the 2021-22 season with a 5-0 record at home. The Seminoles opened up the season on a five-game win streak and leads the ACC with 6.4 blocked shots per game. The Seminoles are coming off a 69-55 lose to Florida State while Morgan Jones is FSU's leading scorer, rebounder and as well as leading the team in assists.
BLAST FROM THE PAST. Coach Ronald Hughey returns to Tallahassee, Florida for the first time since becoming the head coach at Houston. Hughey was an assistant under current Seminole head coach Sue Semrau. While there he helped guide the Seminoles to two consecutive NCAA Second Rounds, while collecting a 44-22 record during his tenure there. He also helped develop Natasha Howard who was drafted fifth overall by the Indiana Fever in the 2014 WNBA Draft.
HOME COURT ADVANTAGE. The Cougars are currently 4-0 when playing at home. The streak started with the exhibition against Texas A&M Commerce and then tallied home wins against Howard, New Mexico, Jacksonville State and Louisiana.
TAKE THE BALL. Houston continues to dominate in takeaways ranking No. 23 in steals with 113 and No. 32 in steals per game at 11.3. In the American conference the Cougars rank second in steals while only ECU ahead with 121. The Cougars are also ranked first in the American in blocked shots with 45 which is good for No. 43 nationally as Tatyana Hill leads the team with 15 ranking No. 62 nationally.
AGAINST LOUISIANA. Britney Onyeje led all scorers with 16 points adding three rebounds and three steals. Tatyana Hill posted 10 rebounds to go with three assists and three blocks while Bria Patterson boasted seven rebounds, three assists and three steals.
