Women's Basketball to host Texas A&M Commerce in Exhibition

The Cougars will take on Texas A&M Commerce on Friday, Nov. 5 at Fertitta Center
HOUSTON – Coming off its third-straight post season appearance, the Houston Women's Basketball program will open its 2021-22 season with a free-admission exhibition game against Texas A&M Commerce on Friday, Nov. 5 at the Fertitta Center.
GAMEDAY DETAILS
The game is free to all fans and students at the Holman Entrance. Parking will be available in Lots 15C and the Stadium Garage for $5.
SCOUTING the LIONS
The Texas A&M University-Commerce women's basketball team is ranked 10th nationally in the WBCA NCAA Division II Coaches' Poll entering the 2021-22 season.
The Lions have a 42-14 record over the last two seasons and lost just three conference matchups during that span. In the shortened season last spring, the Lions went 14-4 and advanced to the NCAA South Central Regional Semifinal after a 11-2 record in conference play.
POST SEASON PLAY
In the 2020-21 season was the third-straight season the Cougars made a post-season appearance in the NIT. After finishing the regular season with a 15-6 overall record and a third place finish in conference, the Houston women's basketball headed to the NIT finishing with a 1-1 record.
FAMILIAR FACES
The women's basketball team, returns six starting players, including leading score, sophomore Lalia Blair. Other starters suiting up for the Cougars for another season include Dymond Gladney, Brittney Onyeje, Julia Blackshell-Fair and Jazmaine Lewis.

During the 2021-22 season, Houston Athletics will celebrate its 75th anniversary by recognizing its championship tradition, award-winning student-athletes and coaches and memorable moments from its rich history.
As part of this year's celebration, the Fertitta Center will be decorated with the school's 75th anniversary logo.

Houston Athletics recently partnered with Chartwells as its new food service provider at all Athletics venues.
As part of this partnership, fans will enjoy an enhanced gameday guest experience with the addition of new and improved points-of-sale technology, digital menu screens and points-of-sale options throughout the Fertitta Center.
Returning in 2021, sEATz mobile ordering and in-seat wait service along with in-stadium hawkers service will be available to fans providing additional convenient and affordable options while fans cheer on the Coogs.
MERCHANDISE SERVICES
Houston Athletics recently announced its new e-commerce and in-venue retail merchandise partnership with Follett. Follett will provide UH fans of all ages with a large variety of authentic UH gear and products at Houston Women's Basketball games or on-line throughout the year.
Fans will enjoy the benefits of a new UH Team Shop retail store along with additional merchandise kiosk stands and locations throughout the Fertitta Center.

With mobile ticketing, Houston Athletics fans will enjoy various benefits, including reduced wait lines and quicker access into event venues, eliminating printing, delivery, loss or stolen tickets along with more convenient access and options in managing of tickets.
