WHAT TO WATCH FOR
« The Cougars are among five schools nationally with multiple punt blocks (3) and multiple punt return touchdowns (2). Houston is joined by Coastal Carolina, Indiana, San Diego State and Toledo. Houston's three blocked kicks are tied for third nationally.
« Houston quarterback Clayton Tune leads The American and ranks 11th nationally with a 71.3 completion %. Tune ranks ninth in Houston career passing yards (5,346) and passing touchdowns (41). He is 10th in career completions (427).
« Houston senior Marcus Jones leads the nation with two punt return touchdowns. He is the fifth player in school history and first since 1968 to record multiple punt return touchdowns in a season. Last Saturday against Navy, Jones became the first Houston player since 2011 (Patrick Edwards) to record a receiving touchdown and punt return touchdown in the same game.
« Houston running back Alton McCaskill is tied for first nationally among true freshmen in total touchdowns (8), rushing touchdowns (7) and scoring (48 points). His three rushing touchdowns Friday at Tulsa matched a new program record for a freshman and marked the most for a freshman since Bryce Beall ran for as many on Oct. 18, 2008.

» In line with city of New Orleans, Tulane Athletics will require proof of documentation of a valid COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 PCR test within 72 hours for all attendees over the age of twelve (12) to all Tulane Athletic events.
» All attendees over the age of two (2) will be required to wear a mask over their nose and mouth unless actively eating or drinking.
» All attendees over the age of 12 must provide one of the following:
1) Proof of vaccine (at least one dose) – your state's verification app showing proof of vaccine, an original CDC vaccination card, a digital photograph or photo copy of vaccination card (both side) or an official vaccine record issued by another state, foreign nation, or the WHO.
2) A negative PCR test – paper or digital test results from a PCR COVID-19 test indicating negative results within the past 72 hours. Antigen tests will not be accepted.
» Fans will be asked to present documentation at one of the seven checkpoint locations beginning four hours prior to kick-off. Locations can be found here.
FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
« Houston and Tulane are meeting for the 26th time overall including the fourth consecutive season on a Thursday night. Thursday marks the 19th meeting in the last 20 years between the two programs. Houston has won 14 of the last 17 matchups (2003-present).
« Over its last four contests, Houston has limited opponents to 9.3 points per game. Houston's 75 points (15.0 per game) allowed are the second-fewest permitted through its first five games of a season since 1990 (2016: 56 points, 11.2 points per game).
« Houston has outscored opponents 59-7 in the first quarter this season and 89-41 over the final two periods. The Cougars were dominant Friday against Tulsa, limiting the Hurricane to -4 yards rushing through three quarters.
« Houston is 41-17 in the month of October since 2006 including a 18-9 mark on the road.
«Houston's four-game win streak is the longest for the program since winning five straight from Sept. 22-Oct. 27, 2018. In its only loss, the Cougars surrendered a pair of 14-point leads to Texas Tech.

« Tulane linebacker Nick Anderson was named as a William V. Campbell Trophy semifinalist. The award is to recognize the college football's premier scholar athlete that shows the best combination of academics, community service, and on-field performance.
« Quarterback Michael Pratt is second in The American for touchdowns responsible for with 15.
« Offensive linemen Corey Dublin will be making his 55th career start the most of any player on the Tulane roster.
