Maui Jim Maui Invitational Moved to Las Vegas

HOUSTON – Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, travel restrictions and COVID-19 protocols in the state of Hawai'i, the Maui Jim Maui Invitational will relocate to Las Vegas.
The 2021 event will be hosted inside Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on Nov. 22-24.
All eight programs from the original field are scheduled to compete in the tournament. Houston opens the tournament at 3:30 p.m. (CT), Nov. 22, against Butler. From there, the Cougars meet the winner/loser of Texas A&M-Wisconsin on Nov. 23 before closing out the tournament at a time to be determined on Nov. 24.
Notre Dame, Oregon, Saint Mary's (Calif.) and host Chaminade will compete on the other half of the bracket.
All 12 games of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational will be televised on the ESPN family of networks and also will be available on the ESPN app.
TICKETS & TRAVEL PACKAGE REFUNDS
For Houston fans who purchased a donor travel package to the Maui Jim Maui Invitational, a full refund will be provided from Anthony Travel, and patrons will receive an email from Houston Athletics with more details.
For Cougar fans who purchased game tickets only to the Maui Jim Maui Invitational, a full refund will be provided from Houston Athletics, and patrons will receive an email from Houston Athletics with more details.
Tickets for the new Las Vegas location will go on sale at a later date. Patrons who originally purchased tickets to the Maui Jim Maui Invitational will be given first access to tickets followed by donors and Houston Men's Basketball season ticketholders.

SCHEDULE
The Cougars recently revealed their 2021-22 schedule, which features 17 regular-season home games, including a Nov. 6 exhibition against Montana Tech, with nine American Athletic Conference contests inside the Fertitta Center.
ABOUT the COUGARS
Seven lettermen and two starters return from last season's squad which posted a 28-4 record, advanced to the sixth NCAA Tournament Final Four in school history and captured the American Athletic Conference Tournament championship under Head Coach Kelvin Sampson.
In 2020-21, the Cougars posted a perfect 15-0 home record inside the Fertitta Center and have won their last 25 home games. That ranks as the fourth longest home winning streak in the nation, entering the 2021-22 campaign.
