Houston Tennis to Travel Across the City Friday

Cougars will take on Rice in weekend tournament
HOUSTON – The University of Houston tennis program will travel across the city to Rice for a three day weekend tournament at the George R. Brown Tennis Center.
The Cougars competed at the ITA Division I Women's Texas Regional Championship Tournament in Fort Worth two weeks ago seeing much success on the court. Sophomore Gabriela Giraldo walked away with the consolation after winning her matches in singles play.
Houston looks to continue that success this weekend at the Rice Invitational to add to its fall schedule and season record. The Cougars and Owls have been going to head to head since 1980 with Rice holding a 19-12-0 all-time series record against Houston.
The Cougars will begin tournament play on Friday. Fans can follow social media for updates throughout the weekend or attend the invitational in person at the George R. Brown Tennis Facility.
