Houston Falls to ECU in Double Overtime

HOUSTON – Houston Soccer (10-3-2, 2-1-1 AAC) fell to American Athletic Conference opponent ECU, 0-1, at the Carl Lewis International Complex on Sunday. The Cougars fought through two periods of extra time before the Pirates (7-7-1, 2-2-1 AAC) made a double-assisted score in the 102^nd minute.

Jazmin Grant, Natalie Anderson, and Zionah Browne all recorded three shots apiece to aid in the 20 total shots taken throughout the match. Houston outshot ECU 20-5, but could not successfully make it in the net to earn the win.

The Sunday match was the first conference loss and first home defeat thus far in the 2021 season. The Cougars are now 7-1-1 at home and 5-10-1 against ECU in series history.

Houston looks to redeem itself on the road next Sunday in Philadelphia.

UP NEXT
