Quentin Grimes Honored as The American Player of the Week

Junior guard earns first weekly award of 2020-21 season
HOUSTON – University of Houston junior guard Quentin Grimes was honored as the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
Helping lead the Cougars to conference wins over Tulsa and at Temple, Grimes averaged 16.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.
He posted 18 points with four 3-pointers and seven rebounds in the Cougars' 86-59 win over Tulsa inside the Fertitta Center and followed that with a 15-point, 9-rebound performance at Temple on Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia.
Grimes continues to lead the Cougars and moved into second in the American with 17.6 points per game. The Woodlands, Texas, native also stands second on the team with 6.7 rebounds per contest and is one of only three players to rank among the league's Top-10 leaders in both scoring and rebounding.
It was the second conference weekly award of his career and his first this season.

Memphis center Moussa Cisse was named Freshman of the Week. Darius Perry (UCF), Landers Nolley II (Memphis), Kendric Davis (SMU), Jake Forrester (Temple) and Brandon Rachal (Tulsa) were named to the Honor Roll.
