Houston Throwers Shine at Texas A&M Aggie Invite

Cougars win trio of events in College Station
COLLEGE STATION - The University of Houston Track & Field program closed out competition on Saturday at the Texas A&M Aggie Invitational, clinching eight podium finishes.
Priscilla Adejokun dominated in the field, placing first in the weight throw with a toss of 18.66m (61-2 ¾), She was joined by junior Nu'uausala Tuifelano, who threw 15.57m (51-1.0) t finish in third-place. In the shot put, Adejokun won the event with a mark of 14.75m (48-4 ¾). Teuilefano secured her second third-place finish of the day with a toss of 14.22m (46-8.0).
On the men's side, Triston Gibbons had a historic day in the shot put, with a toss of 18.58m (60-11 ½) on his third attempt, to shatter his previous personal best in the event. With this toss, Gibbons won the event, closing out the day with the 13th-best mark among collegians this season.
Naomi Taylor highlighted the 60-meter hurdles final for the women with a third-place finish in the event. Taylor clocked a time of 8.29.
Rachel Maciesjeski earned her second podium finish of the season in the pole vault. The freshman shattered her previous collegiate-best clearance with a mark of 3.68 (12-10 ¾) to take third-place in the event.
Shaun Maswangayni found his way onto the podium for the first time this season with a third-place finish in the 200-meter. Maswangayni clocked a time of 21.36 to take third-place.
In the pole vault on the men's side, Christyan Sampy finished in second-place after clearing 5.21m (17-1.0)
UP NEXT
Houston will return to action on Jan. 29-30 for the second meet of the H-TownSpeedCity Series at Yeoman Fieldhouse.
