Houston Ready to Face Tulsa on Wednesday

Cougars tip off vs. Golden Hurricane at 7 p.m., inside Fertitta Center
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Men's Basketball program continues its homestand when it plays host to Tulsa at 7 p.m., Wednesday, inside the Fertitta Center.
Winners of its last four games, the eighth-ranked Cougars enter Wednesday's game following an impressive 75-58 win over UCF on Sunday inside the Fertitta Center. Houston jumped out to a 45-19 halftime lead and never looked back in sweeping the regular-season series against the Knights.
Senior forward Justin Gorham posted 15 points and 10 rebounds for his team-leading fourth double-double of the season. The Columbia, Md., native leads the Cougars and the American Athletic Conference with 9.2 rebounds including 4.8 offensive rebounds, per game and ranks third nationally in the latter category.
Senior guard Quentin Grimes continues to lead the Cougars and rank third in the league with 17.8 points per game, while sophomore guard Marcus Sasser stands sixth with 15.5 points per contest. Houston is the only school with two of the league's Top-Six scorers.
Wednesday's game features two of the Top-Three teams in The American. Houston leads the league with a 6-1 mark with the Golden Hurricane in third at 5-2.
The two teams rank 1-2 in the league in scoring defense. The Cougars top the conference, allowing only 56.5 points per game, while Tulsa is second at 60.9 points per game.
Houston will have revenge on its mind after Tulsa handed the Cougars their lone loss of the season with a 65-64 decision in Tulsa on Dec. 29, 2020.

Symptoms include but are not limited to fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headaches and loss of taste or smell. • As part of Houston Athletics enhanced safety and cleaning measures, all athletic venues will be regularly sanitized and disinfected in all high-frequency touch points and locations throughout our facilities.
• All fans will be required to wear a mask or proper face guard shield while on University property and inside its venues along with being asked to regularly wash their hands and properly distance themselves when possible.
• Hand sanitizer dispensers will be in place throughout the entire arena. Plexiglass guards will be located at all points-of-sale, and social distancing markings will be installed to assist with queuing.
