Doubles duo collects Houston’s lone win of the day

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – University of Houston Tennis seniors Mimi Kendall-Woseley and Phonexay Chitdara defeated No. 39 Tatiana Makarova and Jayci Goldsmith in Houston's matchup with Texas A&M on Monday.

The win for the pair of Cougars marked the duo's second victory in as many days, as the two defeated Luna Jokanovic and Sofia San Jose Moren of McNeese as part of Houston's win over the Cowgirls on Sunday. Kendall-Woseley and Chitdara are now 2-0 on the season when paired together in doubles play.

Despite the, 7-5, win in doubles action from Kendall-Woseley and Chitdara, the Cougars fell to the Aggies in the overall contest, 7-0. The match victory from Kendall-Woseley and Chitdara was the only win for the Cougars on the day.

In singles play, Kendall-Woseley went up against Makarova, who is ranked No. 64 in singles, and after falling in the first set, 7-5, Kendall-Woseley was unable to keep up Makarova in the second set, dropping the frame, 6-2.
