Branch, Kondis Nominees for NCAA Woman of the Year

Cougars among 259 Division I Nominees
HOUSTON –University of Houston senior student-athletes Dorian Branch and Peyton Kondis highlight the list of 605 student-athlete that were announced as NCAA Women of the Year candidates.
The NCAA National office announced candidates for its 30th edition of its NCAA Women of the Year award tabbing two Cougars. The award is rooted in Title IX and was established in 1991 to recognized graduating female student-athletes who distinguished themselves academically, athletics, through customer service and leadership. Nominees represent all three NCAA divisions, including 259 from Division I.
Conference offices will select a maximum of two nominees each from their pool of member school nominees and those student-athletes will move onto the Top-30. From there the Woman of the Year selection committee will determine the Top-3 nominees from each division. The 2020 NCAA Woman of the Year will be named this fall.
DORIAN BRANCH
Branch just concluded her senior season with the Houston Women's Basketball team where she appeared in 123 games in four seasons. The 26th member of the 1,000-point club after a 22-point effort against ECU, Branch is a Second Team All-American Athletic Conference selection and a Preseason Second Team All-American Athletic Conference. Outside of her efforts on the court, Branch served as the President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was a member of The American SAAC as well.
PEYTON KONDIS
Kondis just wrapped up her senior season on the four-time American Athletic Conference Champion. Houston Swimming & Diving team. A four-time individual American Athletic Conference Champion and 15-time American Athletic Conference selection, Kondis concluded her collegiate career as a three-time NCAA Championships qualifier. The senior is three-time team captain and has done extensive volunteer work throughout the Houston area.
