
#21 Houston Faces UConn on Road on Thursday

Cougars meet Huskies at 6 p.m. (CST) Thursday inside Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn.
STORRS, Conn. – The University of Houston Men's Basketball program begins its final week of the regular season when it takes on American Athletic Conference rival UConn at 6 p.m. (CST) Thursday, inside Gampel Pavilion.
The 21st-ranked Cougars enter their regular-season road finale following an impressive 68-55 win over Cincinnati on Sunday afternoon inside the Fertitta Center. Freshman guards Marcus Sasser and Caleb Mills combined for 36 points and nine rebounds with Sasser's 21 points leading all players.
With that win, the Cougars remained in a tie for first with Tulsa in the latest American standings. Following Thursday's game, Houston plays host to Memphis at 11 a.m., Sunday, inside the Fertitta Center.
Tulsa travels to take on Temple at 6 p.m. (CST) Wednesday before closing out the regular season at 3 p.m., Sunday, at Wichita State.
This season, Mills leads the Cougars and ranks 14th in the league with 13.3 points per game. The Arden, N.C., native looks to become only the second freshman in school history to lead the Cougars in single-season scoring.
Sophomore guard Quentin Grimes ranks second on the team with 11.5 points per game, while sophomore guard Nate Hinton is third with 10.5 points per contest. Hinton also leads the Cougars with 9.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game and is one of only three players to rank among The American's Top-5 leaders in both offensive and defensive rebounding.
Thursday's game will be the second meeting against the Huskies during the regular season. Houston claimed a 63-59 win inside the Fertitta Center in Houston on Jan. 23 in the first game.
