Cougars drop contest against Mavericks in 5-2 decision
HOUSTON - Houston Tennis came up short at home in Friday afternoon's matchup against UT Arlington, falling in a 5-2 decision.
MATCH NOTABLES
- Pairs Chitdara/Gerits and Tairyan/Vukovic fell in doubles play, putting the Mavericks out to an early lead heading into singles play, 1-0.
- Freshman Azul Pedemonti also defeated her opponent, putting the Cougars on the board.
- Senior Phonexay Chitdara and sophomore Elena Tairyan each went into a third set, Chitdara claimed victory to help decrease the deficit.
- UT Arlington owns the all-time series, 2-0.
- Houston falls to 6-5 on the season.
- The Cougars are now 6-4 at home this season.
