Cougars to play on CBS twice and ESPN family of networks in conference schedule
HOUSTON – As the No. 6 University of Houston Men's Basketball program begins preparations for its American Athletic Conference season, the league office unveiled game times and network designations for its remaining games.
Playing a 20-game conference schedule for the first time in school history, the Cougars will compete twice on CBS with the remaining 18 games appearing on the ESPN family of networks.
DECEMBER
The Cougars will play three American games in December, beginning at 7 p.m., Tuesday, on ESPN+. From there, Houston faces UCF in Orlando at 1 p.m., Dec. 26 on ESPN2/ESPN3 and closes out the year 2020 at 8 p.m., Dec. 29, at Tulsa (ESPN2/ESPNU).
Fans should note the Dec. 26 game at Orlando as that game was recently rescheduled after COVID-19 issues recently forced the postponement of Houston's Dec. 15 game against the Knights in the Fertitta Center.
JANUARY
The Cougars open the year 2021 when they take on SMU at 6 p.m., Jan. 3 in Dallas on ESPN2. Following back-to-back home games against Wichita State (time TBA, Jan. 6, ESPN+) and Tulane (7 p.m., Jan. 9, ESPNU), the Cougars meet USF at 6 p.m. (CST), Jan 14, in Tampa, Fla., in a game shown on ESPN/ESPN2.
The month continues with three straight home games in the Fertitta Center against UCF (1 p.m., Jan. 17, ESPNU), Tulsa (time TBA, Jan. 20, ESPN+) and Cincinnati (11 a.m., Jan. 23, CBS) and concludes at Tulane (8 p.m., Jan. 28, ESPN2) and against SMU (Noon, Jan. 31, ESPN) inside the Fertitta Center.
Fans should note the new location for the Jan. 17 home game against UCF inside the Fertitta Center. The site for that game was recently changed after COVID-19 issues forced the rescheduling of both games against UCF.

FEBRUARY
The Cougars start the month of February with consecutive road games at ECU (5 p.m., Feb. 3, ESPN+) and at Temple (6 p.m., Feb. 10, ESPNU) before home games in the Fertitta Center against Memphis (3 p.m., Feb. 14, ESPN) and ECU (time TBA, Feb. 17, ESPN+).
From there, Houston travels to Cincinnati (Noon, Feb. 21, ESPN) and to Wichita State (6 p.m., Feb. 25, ESPN/ESPN2) before celebrating Senior Day against USF inside the Fertitta Center (3 p.m., Feb. 28, ESPNU).
MARCH
The Cougars finish the regular season at Memphis on March 6 in a game shown on CBS. Tipoff time for that game will be announced at a later date.
From there, the Cougars enter the postseason at the American Athletic Conference Championship at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, on March 11-14.
UP NEXT
The Cougars return to action when they close their non-conference regular-season schedule at 3 p.m., Sunday, against Alcorn State inside the Fertitta Center.
That game was recently added to the Cougars' schedule after COVID-19 issues forced two postponements and a cancellation earlier this month.
That game can be seen on ESPN+ and heard on 950 AM KPRC.
