Houston Unveils 2021 Schedule

Cougars to host 13 home matches
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Tennis program and Head Coach Helena Besovic revealed the 2021 schedule on Monday, which is highlighted by 13 matches at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility.
"This is a strong schedule that gives us a chance to compete against some of the top programs in the country," Besovic said. "We have been working very hard in practice and are looking forward to having a successful season."
In total, Houston's 2021 campaign features a total of 20 events, along with The American Athletic Conference Championship held in Orlando, Fla., from April 21-25.
The Cougars will open the season on the road and travel to Fort Worth, Texas, to compete in the TCU Tournament. The three-day event will take place from Jan. 8-10. Following Houston's home-opener against McNeese on Jan. 17, the Cougars will travel west for a three-match road trip, beginning with Incarnate Word on Jan. 29.
From there, Houston will head to UTSA on Jan. 30 and finish the road swing on Jan. 31 at Texas State. Houston will return to the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility for six contests, starting with a weekend slate against Lamar (Feb. 5), ULM (Feb. 6), and Texas Tech (Feb. 7).
Houston then squares up for a battle with Prairie View A&M on Feb. 13, before finishing out its homestand with UTRGV (Feb. 20) and North Texas (Feb. 21). After a trip to College Station, Texas, to face Texas A&M on Feb. 24, the Cougars will return home for a contest with Louisiana (Feb. 26) and then begin conference action when they host Wichita State (Feb. 28).
Conference play continues through March, as Houston will travel to Memphis (March 12) and then host Cincinnati (March 16) prior to hitting the road to face Tulane (March 19). The Cougars' final road contest of the regular season will wrap up in Austin, Texas, when they face Texas on April 2.
Houston will return home and end the regular season with matchups against SMU (April 11) and Rice (April 17).
