The Houston Women's basketball team tipped off its first practice of the 2020-21 season on Wednesday afternoon. Take a look at how freshman forward, Kamryn Jones is adapting to life as a collegiate athlete in her own words.
How was your first practice?
"My first practice was great! Learning new plays and learning how to get better. I love the people that I get to play with."
How is she adapting to the intensity?
"I make sure to get into a good mindset before practice by praying and always remembering what the end goal is. That is helping me adapt to the speed of the game at the college level."
How is she bonding with her teammates?
"It has been pretty easy to bond with everyone. They are all great people and we're enjoying this time.
Why did she choose to come to Houston?
"I came to Houston because of the trust and loyalty that the coaching showed me. I love the culture that they are building here."
What is she most looking forward to?
"I am most looking forward to playing! I know that the end goal is to win a championship and I am ready to work towards that."
