Cougars set to kick off home slate
HOUSTON - Houston Tennis will kick of its home slate at the Winston Tennis Facility where it first takes on McNeese on Friday at 11 a.m. CT, before facing Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.

"We've been looking forward to our home opener this weekend. Our goal is to get more people to come out to our matches and support the team." said head coach Helena Besovic. "We have a special group that wants to do well this year, and finds a lot of pride in playing at home."
SCOUTING THE COWGIRLS
- McNeese is entering its first season under head coach Giorgia Pozzan.
- The Cowgirls finished out their 2019 season with a 11-10 overall record, including a 6-5 finish in Southland Conferenced play.
- McNeese returns four members of its 2018 squad, and welcomes two newcomers.
- In their last matchup, the Cowgirls tallied their first win of the season over Grambling in a 4-1 decision.
SCOUTING THE ISLANDERS
- TAMUCC is entering its 14th season under head coach Steve Moore.
- The Islanders finished out their 2019 season with a 16-7 overall record, including a 10-1 finish in Southland Conference play.
- TAMUCC adds three newcomers and welcomes back five members of its 2018 team.
- In their last matchup, the Islanders remained undefeated with a 7-0 victory over UTRGV.
