Houston Opens Spring at No. 18 Texas A&M

Cougars head to College Station, Texas to open spring slate
HOUSTON - Houston Tennis is set to open regular season action when it heads to College Station, Texas, to take on No. 18 Texas A&M, Noon on Sunday at the Mitchell Tennis Center.

"We are very excited to start out season on a good note against a solid Texas A&M team." said head coach Helena Besovic. "We've been working very hard in practice and can't wait to open our spring season on Sunday."
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Cougars had a successful fall season, tallying a total of 28 wins in singles play and 15 wins in doubles.
- Freshman Azul Pedemonti made her Houston debut this fall, tabbing a total of 13 wins.
- Following her successful fall season, senior Mimi Kendall-Woseley represented the Cougars at the ITA All-American Tournament hosted by Tulsa.
- Looking ahead, UH's regular season slate will feature 18 matches inside the Winston Tennis Facility.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES
- Texas A&M is entering its fourth season under head coach Mark Weaver.
- The Aggies finished out their 2019 season with a 24-8 overall record, including an 8-5 finish in SEC play.
- Texas A&M returns all eight members from its 2018 squad.
- In their last matchup, the Aggies blanked Arizona in a 7-0 decision and improved to 2-3 all-time against the Wildcats.
UP NEXT
Houston returns home to the Winston Tennis Facility for its home opener on Jan. 31, where it is set to take on McNeese at 11 a.m. CT.
