WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
- After dropping its first four contests to start the season, Houston has bounced back nicely and come out victorious in five of its past eight matches. During that stretch, the Cougars have won 19 sets, compared to their opponents' 14.
- Freshman Abbie Jackson has made her presence felt on the court, having emerged as an offensive juggernaut for the Cougars. With an American Athletic Conference Player of the Week already underneath her belt, Jackson finds herself amongst the best in the conference in a variety of statistical categories.
- Commanding the Houston offense has been a familiar face in junior setter Abby Irvine, who continues to make an impact, having written her name in the record books. In Houston's win over UTSA, Irvine handed out a career-high 50 assists, marking the first time a Cougar has reached the 50-assist plateau since 2014.
- As one of the best liberos to come through the Houston program, senior Katie Karbo continues to the climb the charts in the Houston record book, already ranking third in career digs (1,971) and second in digs per set (5.02). She's just 29 digs away from becoming the third player in program history to eclipse the 2,000-dig plateau.
