Jazmin Grant’s overtime goal secures 2-1 win for Houston
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - A golden goal in the 96th minute from Jazmin Grant elevated Houston to a 2-1 overtime victory over Stephen F. Austin, Friday evening at the SFA Soccer Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Houston got out to an early lead, when Nolin Packer shot from the outside and found the back of the net inside the 24th minute.
- The Cougars remained competitive in the opening stanza, notching 11 shots and earning two corner kicks.
- SFA tied up the match late in the second half, when it scored inside the 77th minute.
- The Cougars outshot the Ladyjacks, 29-11.
- Houston tallied six corner kicks on the night.
- Koral Hughes played every minute in-goal for Houston, posting three saves.
OTHER NOTABLES
- Houston is now 3-5-0 on the season.
- The all-time series between Houston and SFA is now 5-4-1.
