Annie Kim Joins Houston Women’s Golf

Transfer from Vanderbilt will compete as sophomore beginning in 2019-20
HOUSTON – Annie Kim will join the University of Houston Women's Golf program in 2019-20 after recently signing a scholarship agreement, Head Coach Gerrod Chadwell announced Monday.
Kim, who stands 5-foot-3, competed at Vanderbilt as a freshman in 2018-19. She joins the Cougars as a sophomore and will have three years of eligibility remaining.
"Annie brings a lot of success and experience from the collegiate and junior levels," Chadwell said. "She has competed at the highest levels and will be a tremendous asset. I look forward to her next three years as she continues to develop within our program."
As a freshman at Vanderbilt in 2018-19, Kim competed in eight tournaments with a 73.75 scoring average. She opened her collegiate career with a score of 1-under 143 to tie for 18th at the Mason Rudolph Championships at Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn.
Before beginning collegiately, Kim was ranked among the Top-75 senior prospects by the American Junior Golf Association.
In 2017-18, she posted three Top-10 finishes in key AJGA tournaments and was ranked No. 200 nationally by the Rolex American Junior Golf Association.
Kim registered a Top-20 showing at the 2017 Florida Women's Amateur Championships and was a qualifier for the 2016 U.S. Girls Junior Championship.
Kim prepped at Bishops Gate Golf Academy and at Core Golf Academy. As a high school student, she received the National Latin Exam Award in 2016 and earned the Headmaster Award from 2014 to 2018.
She was elected as a Ninth-Grade Student Ambassador and was a member of the National Honors Society.
