Houston Head Coach earns award from Track & Field Writers of America
AUSTIN – University of Houston track & field Head Coach Leroy Burrell was tabbed for the Sam Skinner Memorial Award by the Track & Field Writers of America on Friday morning in Austin, Texas.

In his 21st season at the help of the Houston Track & Field program, the accolades continued to roll in for the Houston great. Burrell was honored with the award on Friday morning at the organization's annual breakfast at the NCAA Championships for his ongoing cooperation with the press.

Earlier this week, Burrell was tabbed for the Texas Sports Hall of Fame primary ballot. More information about that can be found HERE.

The Houston men will return to action today for the finals of the 2019 NCAA Division I Track & Field Championships after advancing four individuals in five events, along with a 4x400-meter relay squad. The Cougars first event will begin at 8:12 p.m. and can be watched on ESPN.

ABOUT THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2019 NCAA Division I Track & Field Championships will be held in Austin, Texas at the Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas. Competition will run from June 5-8 and will be aired on the ESPN family of channels (ESPN, ESPNU, ESPN2, ESPN3). Â Live results and heat sheets can be found HERE. END OF SEASON HAPPY HOUR
The Houston Cougar Track & Field program will host an end of season Happy Hour, June 11 from 6-8 p.m. at BB's Café on Westheimer to celebrate the outstanding success of both the Men and Women's programs during the 2018-19 Indoor and Outdoor seasons.
