Hughey Adds to Signing Class

Cougar signing class up to seven with addition of Onyeje
HOUSTON –The Houston Cougars Women's basketball team and Head Coach Ronald Hughey are excited to announced the addition of UCF tranfer Britney Onyeje.
Onyeje becomes the seventh member of the 2019 signing class which can be found by clicking HERE and HERE.

Onyeje comes to Houston after spending a season in Orlando at UCF. The Pflugerville, Texas native will return to her home state to join the Houston Women's basketball program as a guard. Onyeje closed out her high school career as a two-time TABC All-State and TABC All-Region selection, appearing in the TGCA All-Star Team as a senior. Her senior season was highlighted by a nomination for the McDonald's All- American game, and Team MVP honors. During her sophomore season Onyeje was named the 13-6A Defensive Player of the Year, earning District MVP honors her junior year and newcomer of the year honors during her freshman season.
"Britney is a magnificent kid," said Hughey. "She will be tremendous for our culture as well a great student. When you see her in person and when she plays she will remind you of Julia Blackshell-Fair; athletic, kind-hearted, humble and an overall great kid that will do great things for this program."
