
Houston Closes Out First Day of Pro Series

Laderoute leads the Cougars with a third-place finish
RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Houston Swimming & Diving team closed out its first day of competition at the TYR Pro Swim Series – Richmond inside the Collegiate School Aquatics Center with a trio of appearances in the B-Finals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars opened the day a stellar performance from sophomore Mykenzie Leehy. Leehy finished 21st-overall in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:04.91. In the C-Final, Leehy finished with a time of 2:05.80 for seventh-place.
- In the 100 Breaststroke, Peyton Kondis represented the Cougars finishing with a time of 1:11.03 in the prelims and advancing to the B-Final. In the final, Kondis turned in a fifth-place finish with a time of 1:11.47.
- Laura Laderoute and Ioanna Sacha represented the Cougars in the 50 Backstroke. Laderoute paced the Cougars finishing 10th-overall in the prelims (29.39) and turning in a third-place finish in the B-Final (29.38). Sacha qualified for the B-Final with a time of 30.47, finishing eighth at 30.89.
- The meet will continue tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. CT, followed by finals at 5 p.m. CT. The competition will feature swimmers from around the world and can be watched online by clicking HERE. The finals on April 12-14 can be seen on NBCSports.com
