The 12th-ranked Cougars look to sweep the regular-season series against SMU after taking a 69-58 win in Dallas on Jan. 16.
Houston enters the home finale following a tough 69-64 loss to UCF on Saturday evening. Senior guard Corey Davis Jr. led the Cougars with 19 points, while sophomore guard DeJon Jarreau added 15 points, but it would not be quite enough as Houston saw its 33-game home winning streak – the fourth-longest in school history – come to an end.
SENIOR NIGHT
Prior to Thursday's game, the Cougars will celebrate Senior Night with the recognition of four student-athletes and four student managers.
Guards Landon Goesling, Corey Davis Jr., Galen Robinson Jr., and forward Breaon Brady will be honored for their years of sacrifice to Houston Basketball as well as managers Dylan Tesch, Daniel Hixon, Kwa Jones and Matthew McDonald.
During the last four years, the 2019 senior class collected 97 victories with four straight 20-win seasons, four postseason appearances, two NCAA Tournament berths with the program's first NCAA Tournament victory in 34 years in 2018, 60 home wins and a 33-game home winning streak.
Most importantly, every member of the 2019 senior class has received or will his degree in the next few months.
Fans are encouraged to be in their seats in the Fertitta Center by 7:35 p.m., Thursday, with Senior Night ceremonies beginning at midcourt facing the student section.
