ARGYLE, Texas – The University of Houston Women's Golf program closes its regular season when it tees off at the Bruzzy Challenge on Monday morning
Hosted by North Texas, the tournament begins at 8:30 a.m., Monday, with 36 holes on the 6,421-yard, par-72 course at Lantana Golf Club. The Final Round begins with an 8:30 a.m., shotgun start Tuesday.
The 28th-ranked Cougars have finished among the Top-Two leaders in two of their last three tournaments, including a team championship at their own ICON Invitational at The Woodlands Country Club on Feb. 25-26.

TEAM FIELD
The Cougars will compete against No. 35 Baylor, BYU, No. 37 Iowa, Kansas State, Maryland, No. 20 Miami (Fla.), Missouri, No. 41 Mississippi, SMU, No. 19 TCU, No. 2 Texas, Texas A&M, No. 43 Texas Tech and host North Texas.
THE LINEUP
Under the leadership of 2018 American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year Gerrod Chadwell, the Cougars will be represented by seniors Maddy Rayner and Tatiana Pineda, junior Amanda Elich and freshmen Hannah Screen and Maria Jose Martinez.
Screen ranks second on the team with a 73.05 scoring average and nine rounds of par or better, while Rayner stands third with a 75.12 average.
Senior Leonie Harm will close her regular season at the inaugural Augusta Women's National Amateur Championship, set to begin Wednesday at Augusta National Golf Club.
UP NEXT
Following the Bruzzy Challenge, the Cougars return to enter the postseason when they compete at the American Athletic Conference Championships at the Hammock Beach Resort on April 14-16.
