The Cougars move to 2-0 in conference play
HOUSTON – The Houston Women's Tennis team traveled to face conference foe UConn, defeating the huskies, 7-0.
In doubles, Ndindi Ndunda and Sophie Gerits secured the first match of the day at Flight 2, 6-0. Shortly afte, Mimi Kendall-Woseley and Elena Tairyan closed out their match at Court 1, giving Houston an early lead.
Going into singles, the Cougars dominated from top to bottom of the lineup. Kendall-Woseley had a long match, eventually beating Julieanne Bou in three sets, 7-5, 4-6, 6-2. Freshman Jovana Vukovic was also able to snatch her match at Court 3 in a comeback, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4. Junior Phonexay Chitdara battled to get Houston the win at Flight 6, winning in a thriller, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4. The Cougars move to 2-0 in conference play.
