The Cougars, who are ranked No. 8 in the latest USA TODAY Coaches' poll and at No. 9 in the most recent Associated Press poll, enter their lone game this week on the heels of a dominating 85-50 win over Tulane in New Orleans on Sunday.
Houston used a 35-5 run in the second half to break open a close game and never looked back in winning its 10th straight game and for the 25th time in its first 26 games.
Senior guard Corey Davis Jr. poured in a career-high 26 points and became only the fourth player in school history to sink 8+ 3-pointers in a game, joining Robert McKiver, Andre Owens and Jherrod Stiggers in that exclusive group.
Junior guard Armoni Brooks added six 3-pointers on the way to tying his career high with 24 points against the Green Wave.

Fans are encouraged to wear black for Saturday as part of the team's BLACK OUT against USF.

ABOUT THE COUGARS
Under the leadership of 2018 American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year Kelvin Sampson, the Cougars have posted a 25-1 overall record and stand atop the latest league standings with a 12-1 mark.
Davis leads Houston with 15.7 points per game and ranks among the nation's Top-20 leaders in free throw percentage. The Lafayette, La., native has posted 20-point efforts in three of the last five games, including a career-high 26 points in wins at UCF (Feb. 7) and at Tulane (Feb. 17).
Senior point guard Galen Robinson Jr. is tied for second in Houston history with 95 victories during his career and is the second player in school history to record 50+ conference victories in his career, joining Michael Young (52, 1980-84).
Robinson also stands among the Cougars' Top-10 career leaders in games played (125, t-7th), games started (108, 7th), conference games started (61, 5th) and minutes played (3,478, 8th).
Brooks needs only two more 3-pointers to reach 200 in his career and become the fifth Cougar in school history to reach that milestone. He would join Robert McKiver (261, 2006-08), Kelvin Lewis (251, 2007-10), Jherrod Stiggers (243, 2011-15) and Andre Owens (227, 2002-04) in that exclusive group.

• USF has posted an 18-8 record in 2018-19 with a 7-6 mark in American Athletic Conference play.
• Bulls rank sixth in the latest league standings.
• USF is 3-4 in road games this season.
• USF has won six of its last eight games with back-to-back losses at UCF (Feb. 13) and Temple (Feb. 16) preventing a longer streak.
• In its most recent action, USF enjoyed a 95-54 home win over Florida College on Tuesday afternoon in Tampa, Fla.
• Against Florida College, junior forward Antun Maricevic came off the bench to lead the Bulls with 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting and nine rebounds... Sophomore forward Mayan Kiir added 15 points with eight boards, while freshman guard Rashun Williams finished with 14 points... Freshman guard Xavier Castaneda finished with 12 points, four rebounds and a game-high six assists, while senior guard T.J. Lang totaled 14 points with three rebounds and three assists.
• This season, sophomore guard David Collins leads the Bulls with 15.4 points per game... Junior guard Laquincy Rideau is second on the team with 13.8 points per game but averages a team-best 5.7 assists per contest... Redshirt freshman forward Alexis Yetna stands third among the Bulls with 12.2 points per game and leads USF with 9.9 rebounds per game.
• Head Coach Brian Gregory is in his second season at USF and his 15th year as a collegiate head coach.
• Gregory has compiled a 276-209 record during his career as a collegiate head coach and is 28-30 at USF.
• Previously built a 76-86 record at Georgia Tech (2011-16) and was 172-94 at Dayton (2003-11).
• Gregory is 1-3 during his career against Houston during his career... Includes an 0-3 mark as USF"s head coach and a 1-0 record with Georgia Tech.
• Gregory is 1-3 against Houston Head Coach Kelvin Sampson during their careers with an 0-3 mark as USF's head coach and a 1-0 record with Georgia Tech.

Saturday's game against USF has SOLD OUT for the Cougars' seventh sellout of the season inside the Fertitta Center. Limited tickets are available for the Cougars' remaining home games UCF (March 2) and SMU (March 7). Single-game tickets begin for as low as $10.

UP NEXT
• Following Saturday's game against USF, the Cougars travel to face ECU at 6 p.m. (CST), Wednesday, in Greenville, N.C.. That game will be shown on ESPN3 and can be heard on KPRC 950 AM.
