Presley Bell earns shutout win over Nevada
Houston began the day falling to the Terps (4-3) 4-2 before bouncing back to take down Nevada (1-3) in a 4-0 decision. The shutout against the Wolf Pack marked the first of the season for the Cougars (3-4).
Senior pitcher Presely Bell led the way with her presence in the circle in Houston's win, tossing a complete-game shutout, having allowed just three hits in the process.
Against Nevada, junior outfielder Lindsey Stewart and sophomore infielder Aspen Howie launched solo home runs, their first of the season. In that matchup, Stewart led the Cougars with a pair of hits to go along with her two RBIs.
KEY INNINGS
2nd | Junior infielder Kelli Montgomery got the offense going for the Cougars, as her single through the left side of the infield allowed senior outfielder Sarah Barker to score from second and put Houston ahead 1-0.

7th | Houston never went down without a fight, as a single from freshman outfielder Abby Odneal put two runners on base with just one out in the inning. However, the Cougars' comeback fell short, dropping the contest to the Terps 4-2.
