Houston Opens Spring at All-American Intercollegiate

HUMBLE, Texas – The University of Houston Men's Golf program opens the spring season when it plays host to the All-American Intercollegiate, beginning Sunday morning at Golf Club of Houston.
The Cougars will compete on the 7,096-yard, par-72 Tournament Course with 18 holes scheduled for each day through Tuesday.

THE LINEUP
Sophomore Alexander Frances, senior Matt Williams, junior George Gardner, junior Logan Young and junior Alex Isakson will represent the Cougars in the starting lineup for Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke this week.
Junior Zach Tracy, sophomore Andrew Gibson, freshman Braxton Watkins and senior Carson Cavner will compete as individuals.
Competing in his first season with the Cougars after transferring from Concordia, Young leads the Cougars with a 72.58 scoring average and five rounds of par or better. Williams and Tracy are tied for second with a 73.25 average and three rounds of par or better during the fall season.
TEAM FIELD
The Cougars will compete against No. 34 South Carolina, No. 37 Baylor, No. 49 Mississippi, Charlotte, Lamar, Louisiana, McNeese, New Mexico State, North Texas, Sam Houston State, UT Arlington, UTSA and co-host Rice.
PAIRINGS
For Sunday's First Round, Houston will compete in groups with student-athletes from Mississippi and South Carolina beginning at 8 a.m., off No. 1.
Isakson starts the day for the Cougars off No. 1 at 8 a.m., Sunday, with Young (8:09 a.m.), Gardner (8:18 a.m.), Williams (8:27 a.m.) and Frances (8:36 a.m.) following.
Complete pairings will be announced soon.
UP NEXT
Following the All-American Intercollegiate, the Cougars will compete at the Cabo Collegiate on March 3-5 at Querencia Golf Club in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.
From there, the team will host the Border Olympics at Laredo Country Club in Laredo, Texas, on March 11-12.
