Cougars close their regular-season schedule at Finley Golf Club beginning Saturday morning
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of Houston Men's Golf program closes its regular-season schedule when it tees off at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate at Finley Golf Club.The Cougars will play 36 holes Saturday with the Final Round teeing off Sunday morning on the par-72 course.
Houston enters its regular-season finale after finishing seventh at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club last week.

ABOUT the COUGARS
Under the leadership of Mike Booker Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke, Houston will be represented by senior Hudson Weibel, junior Grant Doggett, junior Chi Chun Chen, sophomore Hsuan-Yi Chen and senior Bryant Hiskey II. Senior Kevin An will compete as an individual.
This season, Weibel leads the Cougars with a 70.44 scoring average and 20 rounds of par or better in 27 total rounds. The Dallas native has won three individual championships in 2025-26 to become the first Cougar to win 3+ titles in a season since Roman Robledo in 2013-14.
Weibel also leads the team with five Top-20 finishes and 10 rounds in the 60s. With his 64 in the First Round of the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational on April 4, he joined Andy Sanders as the only Cougars to record multiple rounds of 64 or lower during their careers.
Doggett stands second on the team with a 71.41 average and is tied with Chi Chun Chen and Hsuan-Yi Chen for second with 14 rounds of par or lower. After opening the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational with rounds of 68-67, Doggett tied for 14th at 7-under 209 to lead the Cougars.TEAM FIELD
For the Tar Heel Intercollegiate, the Cougars will compete in a 15-team field featuring #27 Duke, #29 Texas A&M, #42 UNCW, Campbell, Davidson, East Tennessee State, Elon, Florida Atlantic, Furman, Gardner-Webb, Kennesaw State, Nebraska, UCF and host #11 North Carolina

For Saturday's action, the Cougars will compete in groups with student-athletes from North Carolina, Duke and Texas A&M beginning at 7:45 a.m. (CDT).
Doggett begins the day off No. 2 Saturday with Doggett (No. 1), Chi Chun Chen (No. 3), Hsuan-Yi Chen (No. 4) and Hiskey (No. 5) following. An will start off No. 18.

UP NEXT
Following the Tar Heel Intercollegiate, the Cougars take their first steps in the postseason when they tee off at the Big 12 Championship at Prairie Dunes Golf Club in Hutchinson, Kan., on April 27-29.
The Cougars will then learn their postseason fate during the NCAA Selection Show, set to air at 4 p.m., April 29, on Golf Channel.
From there, Houston looks to compete in NCAA Regional play for the sixth consecutive season. NCAA Regionals play will be held May 18-20 at six sites across the country. Those venues include: University of Georgia Golf Course (Athens, Ga.; hosted by Georgia); Bermuda Run Country Club (Bermuda Run, N.C., hosted by Wake Forest); Traditions Club (Bryan, Texas; hosted by Texas A&M); Ohio State Golf Club (Columbus, Ohio; hosted by Ohio State); Trysting Tree Golf Club (Corvallis, Ore., hosted by Oregon State) and Chin Southern Dunes (Maricopa, Ariz.; hosted by Arizona State)
