Houston Meets Oklahoma State on Sunday

Cougars tip off vs. Cowboys at 2 p.m., Sunday, inside Fertitta Center
HOUSTON – Winner of its last four games, the University of Houston Men's Basketball program welcomes Oklahoma State to Houston for the first time in nearly 60 years when the teams square off at 2 p.m., Sunday, inside the Fertitta Center.
The Cougars (6-2) come into this weekend's game following a 71-63 win over UT Arlington on Wednesday night. Sophomore Nate Hinton posted 25 points with 10 rebounds for his second straight double-double, third in the last four games, fourth of the season and the fifth of his career.
The Gastonia, N.C., native set a Houston record for scoring in the Fertitta Center and already owns the facility rebounding record after grabbing 15 boards against Houston Baptist in late November. He is one of only three players to rank among the American Athletic Conference's Top-5 leaders in both offensive and defensive rebounds.
Sophomore guard Quentin Grimes finished with 10 points in Wednesday's win and ranks second in the league with 16.9 points per game.
Sunday's game will be the first time Oklahoma State has played the Cougars in Houston since a 56-54 Cougar win during the Lion's Club Tournament in Sam Houston Coliseum on Dec. 16, 1960.
A year ago, the Cougars enjoyed a 63-53 win inside Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Okla., on Dec. 8, 2018.

In recognition of Head Coach Kelvin Sampson's regular game-day attire, Houston Athletics will be giving away FREE blue shirt & red tie T-shirts to the first 2,000 fans at Sunday's game against Oklahoma State. Doors open at 12:30 p.m., Sunday.
UH students will enjoy a free Student Tailgate ahead of Sunday's game with free food, drinks and games, beginning at 11:30 a.m., in Cemo Plaza. The first 300 students at the Student Tailgate will receive wristbands for floor seating and a blue-shirt, red-tie T-shirt.
The Coke Caravan will be held in Cemo Plaza in front of the Fertitta Center on the Cullen Boulevard side, beginning at noon, Sunday. Santa Claus will be available for photos with lots of prizes available, including holiday socks
Fans are invited to take photos with Shasta and Sasha Claus on the concourse during pregame and halftime at all home games in the Fertitta Center through Dec. 20.
Fans are invited to participate in the KHOU Secret Santa Toy Drive. With the donation of an unwrapped toy at the Fertitta Center entrances, fans will receive a voucher for a discounted $10 ticket at a future home game.

Regular-season single-game tickets for the University of Houston Men's Basketball program's 2019-20 season are on sale now, and fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets soon before all are gone.
Fans can purchase single-game tickets at the Houston Athletics Ticket Office during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, and any time at uhcougars.com/tickets.
Fans who were unable to purchase season tickets can get a head start for the 2020-21 season by placing their names on the Priority Waiting List for only a $50 deposit. To reserve places on the Priority Waiting List, fans can register by clicking here and follow the appropriate links from the right column.
