Houston Faces Final Test Before Conference Play

Cougars head to Colorado for meetings with Air Force and Colorado College
HOUSTON – The University of Houston soccer team will face its final test before kicking off conference play. The Cougars will face Air Force on Sept. 13, before meeting Colorado College on Sept. 16.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOWÂ
The Cougars will return to Houston to begin play in the American Athletic Conference. Houston will host UConn on Sept. 20 and Temple Sept. 23.

CELEBRATING 20 YEARS
The Houston Soccer program is excited to celebrate 20 years of Houston soccer this season. The team unveiled a logo on June 14 that represents 20 years of Houston soccer. The logo is featured on one of the three uniforms that the Cougars will wear throughout the season.

- The Cougars are coming off of a 2-0 weekend where they posted a 2-1 OT win over Sam Houston State and 2-0 win over McNeese State.
- Houston is 4-4 overall this season and 1-4 on the road.
- Desiree Bowen leads the Cougars with eight points this season off of four goals.
- Amy Nguyen, Jazmin Grant and Olivia Lee are also scoring threats for the Cougars with two goals each this season.
- Mia Brascia leads the team with four assists on the season.Â
- Desiree Bowen is tied for third in The American in goals scored with four.
- Mia Brascia leads the conference with her four assists this season.
- Olivia Lee is tied for first in the conference with two game-winning goals.
- Samantha Cude leads The American with a 0.60 GAA in four appearances.
- As a team, Houston is tied for second in The American with three shutouts this season.
- The Cougars have earned 47 corners this season for second in the conference.
- The all-time series with Air Force is tied at 0-0-0, these teams have never met on the pitch.
- Emma Nelson leads the Falcons with two goals this season, four other players have assists.
- Jennifer Hiddink is the primary goalkeeper for Air Force with a 1-1-1 record and 30 saves this season.
