CARROLLTON, Texas Ã¢â‚¬" University of Houston senior Megan Thothong and junior Leonie Harm finished among the Top-10 leaders to lead the Cougars to a second-place finish at the Bruzzy Challenge at Maridoe Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.

The Cougars, who are ranked No. 26 in the latest Golfstat rankings, posted the low team round of the day with a 304 and finished in a tie for second with No. 34 Iowa State with a 54-hole total of 909, two strokes behind No. 38 Texas A&M.

Thothong sank three birdies in Tuesday's Final Round on the 6,335-yard, par-72 course to finish third with a score of 222. It was the Dallas native's third straight Top-10 finish and her fourth of the season.

Harm enjoyed the team's low round of the day with a 73 and finished seventh with a score of 225. After starting 3-over through holes, the Gerlingen, Germany, native posted a pair of birdies on her back nine to earn her second straight Top-10 finish and her team-leading fifth of the year.

Senior Allie Andersen tied for 13th at 229. Playing as an individual, junior Maddy Rayner tied for 24th at 240, while senior Courtney Tibiletti tied for 45th at 238. Sophomore Amanda Elich tied for 51st at 249.

Following the Cougars, TCU (915), No 42 BYU (917), Missouri (920), No. 49 San Diego State (923), No. 50 Texas Tech (929), North Texas (939) and SMU (942) rounded out the Top-10 leaders.

Texas A&M's Maddie Szeryk earned medalist honors with a score of 216. TCU's Greta Bruner finished second at 220, while Iowa State's Celia Barquin Arozamen and Texas A&M's Ariana Saenz tied for fourth at 223.

Following the Bruzzy Challenge, the Cougars enter the postseason beginning with the American Athletic Conference Championships on the Conservatory Course at Hammock Beach Golf & Spa Resort in Palm Coast, Fla., on April 15-17.
