WICHITA, Kan â€" Fresh off a thrilling victory, the University of Houston Men's Basketball program looks to extend its season when it faces No. 7/7 Michigan at 8:40 p.m., Saturday, in the NCAA Tournament Second Round inside INTRUST Bank Arena
The Cougars, who are ranked No. 21 in the latest Associated Press poll and No. 19 in the USA TODAY Coaches' poll, earned their place in the Second Round following a 67-65 win over rv/rv San Diego State on Thursday night.
Senior guard Rob Gray drove the lane and banked in a layup with just 1.1 seconds remaining to lift the Cougars to their first NCAA Tournament victory in more than 30 years. The Forest City, N.C., native posted a career-high 39 points and added a personal-best nine rebounds in the win.

Although he saw his 29-game streak with at least one 3-pointer snapped at 29 games against the Aztecs â€" the second-longest streak in school history â€" Davis continues to lead the Cougars and the league with 3.0 3-pointers per game.
Senior forward Devin Davis added nine points and tied with Gray for team-high honors with nine rebounds against San Diego State. The Indianapolis native has enjoyed a team-best five double-doubles in 2017-18.
