Houston Falls at McNeese, 7-6, Tuesday

LAKE CHARLES, LA. -- Despite tallying 11 hits on Tuesday, Houston Baseball dropped its midweek matchup at McNeese, 7-6, at Joe Miller Ballpark in Lake Charles, La as a four-run sixth inning proved to be the difference for the Cowboys.
The Cougars fell to 8-8 on the year, while McNeese improved to 5-11. The two teams split the 2018 midweek series with Houston earning a 13-9 win last week at Schroeder Park.
HOUSTON HITS
- Jared Triolo has reached base in 15 straight games.
- Joe Davis has reached in 13 straight games.
- Cooper Coldiron tallied a career-high four RBI en route to his team-leading 17th of the year.

Houston starter Nolan Bond lasted 1.2 innings, allowing two runs on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts before handing the ball over to freshman Clay Aguilar.
Aguilar showed well in his collegiate debut, striking out three, while tossing 2.1 shutout innings without allowing a base hit and only one walk.
He worked around an inherited bases loaded jam in the second inning, surrendering just one inherited run before striking out the final hitter to strand three runners in the frame.
Freshmen Trevis Sundgren and Griffin Hattingh and senior Kyle Ott all recorded one out in the fifth inning. Dylan Lester took over in the sixth, but would surrender two runs on one hit and one walk before Tyler Bielamowicz took over, allowing two runs on two hits.
Hunter Edwards registered the final two outs of the four-run sixth inning for McNeese. A lead off error by the Houston defense forced the Cougars to make a pitching change, sending in Carter Henry. Henry tossed 1.2 shutout innings, allowing two hits, one walk with three strikeouts.
Bielamowicz suffered the loss, his first of the year.
KEY INNINGS
1st | Houston jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first on a Joe Davis RBI-double, scoring Landon Etzel, who led off the game by being hit.
2nd | The Cougars added to their lead with another run in the second as Jared Triolo doubled to open the frame and come around to score on an RBI-single by Cooper Coldiron.
McNeese tied the game with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second on two hits and three free passes.
3rd | Houston would regain the lead at 3-2 in the third when Connor Hollis singled, moved to third on a Davis single and scored on a fielder's choice by Lael Lockhart Jr.
4th | Coldiron records another RBI on the day and his 15th on the year when he plates Triolo, who opened the fourth inning with a lead off triple -- his second extra base hit to lead off an inning on Tuesday.
5th | Houston scored in its fifth straight inning as Davis singled for his third hit of the day and came around to score on a bases loaded walk by Coldiron -- his third RBI of the game.
McNeese loaded the bases on a few free passes, but Ott managed to work out of the jam and keep the Cowboys scoreless.
6th | McNeese opened the sixth with a solo home run and followed it up with a three-run shot to take a 6-5 lead in the game.
7th | The Cowboys extended their lead with a run in the seventh when its lead off hitter reached second on a dropped fly ball, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on an RBI-single.
9th | Lockhart reached on an error to open the ninth, took second on a ground ball and later scored on Coldiron's second hit of the game for his fourth RBI to make it a 7-6 game.
