Houston Inaugural Game in Fertitta Center Sold Out

Cougars take on Ducks in Fertitta Center opener on Saturday, face UTRGV at 7 p.m., TONIGHT
HOUSTON – As the University of Houston Men's Basketball program prepares to enter a new era with the opening of the Fertitta Center this weekend, Athletics administrators announced that Saturday's game against No. 18/21 Oregon has sold out.
After playing at Texas Southern's H&PE Arena during the entire 2017-18 season, the Cougars return to their $60-million on-campus home. Winners of its first four games to open this season, Houston faces the Ducks at 8 p.m., Saturday, in the 7,100-seat facility.
"Saturday's Men's Basketball game will be a historic night for the University of Houston as we add another premier facility to our inventory. This is a significant commitment to our Basketball and Volleyball programs, and we are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our student-athletes. Our fans will be amazed at the Fertitta Center's transformation and first-class amenities." Vice President for Athletics Chris Pezman said. "With 15 more Men's home games after Saturday, our fans have many more opportunities to watch one of the nation's most exciting teams compete."

Before facing Oregon this weekend, the Cougars take on UT Rio Grande Valley at 7 p.m., tonight, inside H&PE Arena.
The Cougars have reeled off 19 consecutive home wins inside H&PE Arena after posting a 15-0 record there in 2017-18 and winning its first three home games there this season. Houston's streak is tied for the second-longest active home streak in the nation.
