Houston Wraps Fall Season at River Oaks Invitational

Cougars set for three-day action at River Oaks Country Club
HOUSTON – The Houston Cougar Women's Tennis team wraps the 2018 fall season with the River Oaks Invitational across Oct. 26-28 at River Oaks Country Club in Houston.
The 3-day tournament will feature the Cougars as well as Texas, SMU, Rice and North Carolina State. The tournament will be played with two rounds of doubles and one round of singles Friday, two rounds of singles being played Saturday and one round of doubles and one round of singles being played Sunday. Friday and Saturday's action begins at noon, while Sunday starts at 9 a.m.
Five Cougars will be in action for singles play on the weekend, including sophomore Ndindi Ndunda, who leads the squad with six wins this season. Junior Phonexay Chitdara and freshman Stephanie Belovukovic each enter the final fall weekend with four wins, while redshirt freshman Elena Tairyan and junior Constandena Nicolaou will also compete in singles.
Chitdara will team with freshman Sophie Gerits as Houston's No. 1 doubles team at the River Oaks Invitational. The duo sports a 5-4 record on the season. In other doubles matches, Ndunda will team with Tairyan while Belovukovic pairs up with Nicolaou.
