HOUSTON â€" Houston Baseball will make its final regular-season conference road trip this weekend as the Cougars travel to New Orleans, La. to take on Tulane in a three-game series, set to begin Friday at 6:30 p.m.
The American Athletic Conference series will continue at 2:30 p.m. Saturday with the game slated to air on CBS Sports Network. Houston and Tulane will wrap at 1 p.m. Sunday.

QUICK HITS ON HOUSTON
- Houston enters the weekend series with a 31-17 overall record and an 11-7 mark in league play.
- Houston is led offensively by Jake Scheiner's .363 clip, 65 hits, 13 home runs and 45 RBI.
- Connor Wong follows with a .305 clip and 10 home runs, while leading the team with 44 runs scored and Joe Davis owns a .297 clip with seven home runs and 37 RBI for second-most on the team.
- The Cougars are 59-of-75 on the base paths, led by Connor Wong â€" who has a team-leading 20 stolen bases.

- The Cougars used a strong effort by their freshmen class to score six unanswered runs and win.
- Freshman Carter Henry tossed a career-long 7.1 innings, fanning five â€" finishing with 6.1 shutout frames to end the game. Fellow freshman Brayson Hurdsman tossed the final 1.2 innings without allowing a hit or run for the win.
- Freshman Nick Slaughter came up big offensively, driving in three runs on two hits.

- Tulane enters the weekend series with a 23-26 overall record and a 10-8 mark in league play.
- The Green Wave did not play a midweek game and is coming off a series loss to UCF last weekend.
- Tulane is hitting .260 as a team, led by Hunter Williams' .343 average and 70 hits. Jarret DeHart paces the team with 10 home runs and 40 RBI.
- As a team, the Green Wave has stolen 40-of-59 bases with Grant Witherspoon's 10 stolen bases leading the way.

ON DECK
Following the weekend series at Tulane, Houston will travel to McNeese State on Tuesday for its final midweek game of the 2017 season. The game is set to begin at 6 p.m. The Cougars will then wrap up its conference regular-season by hosting Cincinnati in a three-game set, beginning Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The series will continue Friday at 6:30 p.m. and wrap at 1 p.m. Sunday.
