HOUSTON -- Fresh off an American Athletic Conference series sweep over East Carolina, the University of Houston Softball team will kick off a six-game road swing with a Tuesday trip to McNeese. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Cowgirl Diamond.

SINGLES
• Houston swept its American Athletic Conference series against East Carolina over the weekend. The Cougars won 4-0 Friday, 6-4 Saturday and 2-1 Sunday on a walk-off single from sophomore Savannah Heebner. With the sweep, the Cougars improved to 8-4 in The American, strengthening their grip on second place.
• In the series against ECU, sophomore Savannah Heebner posted a 2-0 record with two complete games and a 0.50 ERA across 14.0 innings pitched. She finished with 15 strikeouts to just two walks. Heebner and sophomore Maya Thomas each posted .455 batting averages, going 5-for-11, respectively. For their efforts, both were named to The American Weekly Honor Roll.
• On the season, Houston leads The American in batting average (.294) and on base percentage (.379), ranking second in slugging percentage (.431), home runs (31), runs scored (220) and earned run average (2.66).
• Individually, sophomore Maya Thomas ranks second in The American with a .425 batting average, while freshman Arielle James (.368) and senior Shelby Miller (.362) rank seventh and eighth, respectively. James leads all freshmen in batting average. Miller also ranks second with 42 RBI.
• In the circle, sophomore Savannah Heebner leads the team with an 11-8 record and 2.02 ERA. Heebner's 11 wins and ERA both rank fourth in The American. Freshman Trystan Melancon is 10-7 with a 2.96 ERA. Sophomore Presley Bell is 2-4 with a 3.71 ERA and two saves. Bell has 12 appearances in relief and six starts. Freshman Hannah Wolfe carries a 3.32 ERA though eight relief appearances.
• Houston leads McNeese, 11-6, in the all-time series and is 2-1 in visits to Lake Charles, La. The Cougars and Cowgirls have already met this season with McNeese claiming a 1-0 edge back on March 29.
