HOUSTON â€" Winners of seven straight, Houston Baseball will travel out of state for the second time this week, making its way to California to take on No. 27 UC Irvine in a three-game series at Anteater Ballpark, beginning Friday at 8:30 p.m. CT.
The series will continue at 4 p.m. CT Saturday and wrap at 2 p.m. CT Sunday. The Cougars enter the weekend with a 15-5 record, while UC Irvine is 11-6. The series will be the final non-conference series for the Cougars this season.

QUICK HITS ON HOUSTON
- Houston enters the weekend series with a 15-5 overall record and a .298 batting average.
- Houston is led offensively by last week's National Player of the Week and California native Jake Scheiner's .455 clip, 35 hits, nine home runs and 29 RBI.

HOUSTON'S LAST AT-BAT
- Houston has won seven straight games and is 15-5 after midweek wins at No. 10 Louisiana and an offensive rout of Texas Southern at home.
- The Cougars went on the road and out of the state of Texas for the first time on Tuesday, coming away with a 4-0 shutout win at No. 10 Louisiana.
- In the win at UL, Houston was led by starter Trey Cumbie â€" who tossed a 9.0-inning, complete-game shutout with five strikeouts, while Connor Wong led Houston at the plate with three hits.
- Houston posted 16 hits in win over Texas Southern and every Cougar starter had a hit and scored a run.
- Freshman Carter Henry struck out five and earned his second win in his first collegiate start at Houston.
QUICK HITS ON UC IRVINE
- UC Irvine is ranked as high as No. 27 in the nation and owns an 11-6 record heading into the weekend series.
- The Anteaters' Tuesday game vs. USC was cancelled due to inclement weather.
- UC Irvine split a series at Seattle last weekend.
