Houston Drops Road Opener at Cal State Fullerton

FULLERTON, Calif. -- The University of Houston Softball team fell 8-0 in a five-inning run rule at Cal State Fullerton on Thursday night at Anderson Family Field.
With the decision, the Cougars fell to 5-8 overall, while the Titans improved to 7-5.
Teammates Sarah Barker, Arielle James and Maya Thomas all recorded a hit in Houston's road opener.
KEY INNINGS
CSUF scored at least one run or more in all five innings to hand the Cougars their first shutout of the season.

The Cougars will continue their California journey with four games over the next three days as part of the Mary Nutter Classic in Palm Springs. Houston will face No. 17/17 Utah in a 10:30 p.m. CT first pitch on Friday, before seeing the like of rv/rv Oregon State, Purdue and Northwestern over the final two days.
