Bouter Named American Diver of the Week

HOUSTON â€"Houston Swimming & Diving junior Micaela Bouter was named American Athletic Conference Female Diver of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday, for her performances against No. 25 LSU and Tulane.
This is Bouter's and the swimming & diving program's third weekly honor of the season.
The Johannesburg, native, earned the weekly honor after netting her highest score of the season in the three-meter springboard event, tallying a score of 335.50 to finish first overall. Bouter's highest score came on her fourth dive â€" the reverse 2 ½ somersault tuck earning a score 63.00. The Johannesburg, native rounded out the podium in the one-meter springboard. Bouter netted a score of 265.35 to finish third overall.
The reigning American Athletic Conference Three-Meter Champion enters the conference championships with 11 wins this season â€" six victories on the one-meter springboard and five on the three-meter.
UP NEXT
Houston will host the American Athletic Conference Championships for the second consecutive year as the best swimmers and divers in the league visit the CRWC Feb. 15-18. Following the conference meet, the Cougars look to close the season at the NCAA Championships, to be held March 15-18, in Indianapolis, Ind.
