Kickoff Times Set for Four Houston Games

HOUSTON â€" Kickoff times for four Houston Football games this fall were announced Wednesday by The American Athletic Conference and its network TV partners.
The four include Houston's three Thursday night games this season, two home and one on the road. Houston's two Thursday night home games, Sept. 29 vs. UConn and Nov. 17 vs. Louisville, will kick off at 7 p.m. CT while the Cougars' Thursday night road trip to Cincinnati on Sept. 15 will kick at 6:30 p.m. CT. All three games will air on ESPN.

Houston's home opener vs. Lamar at TDECU Stadium will kickoff at 11 a.m. CT, Saturday, Sept. 10, and air on ESPN3. Wednesday's announcement gives Houston six games with game times set as kickoff for Houston's Sept. 3 season opener vs. Oklahoma at NRG Stadium has been set for an 11 a.m. CT kickoff on ABC, and its Oct. 8 road game at Navy has been set for a 2 p.m. CT kickoff on CBS Sports Network.
For weekend games past the first three weeks of the season, kickoff times will be set by conference TV partners within 12 days prior to the contest, or in limited instances, six days out.
The American also announced an 11 a.m. CT kickoff time for the 2016 American Championship, which will be played Dec. 3 at the site of one of the two division winners. The American Championship will be televised on ABC or ESPN.
Wednesday's announcement includes the kickoff times for The American's Thursday and Friday prime time games on ESPN networks. The prime-time package begins with a key conference matchup between Houston and Cincinnati on Sept. 15.
The American enjoyed a banner year in 2015 as three teams finished in the final College Football Playoff top 25 rankings, eight teams played in bowl games, and Houston defeated Florida State in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
