Cougars Fall, 4-0, to McNeese State

LAKE CHARLES, La. â€" Houston Softball dropped a 4-0 decision at McNeese State Tuesday evening.
The Cougars drop to 23-28 on the season while McNeese State improves to 36-12, after splitting the series this season.
After two and half scoreless innings, McNeese took a 3-0 lead when a Cougar error sent two runs home. Another run scored on a base hit up the middle before Houston ended the inning, throwing the runner out at home.
An inning later, the Cowgirls added another run to their lead off two doubles.
Freshman RHP Savannah Heebner (7-7) took the loss for the Cougars. She allowed two earned runs, five hits and three walks while striking out three.
NEXT AT BAT
Houston Softball closes out the 2016 regular season this weekend as the Cougars host Memphis for the final American Athletic Conference series. The series begins on Friday at 5:30 p.m. on Courtney Klingler's senior day. The Cougars celebrate Katie St. Pierre's senior day on Saturday before the 2 p.m. start. The series concludes on Sunday at noon.
