In the program's most recent action, redshirt freshman Kailey Collier made her collegiate debut an impressive one, tying for 11th at the HBU Husky Invitational at Riverbend Country Club in Sugar Land, Texas, on Tuesday.
In the most recent team play, the Cougars finished seventh at the LSU Tiger Classic in Baton Rouge, La., on March 22. Senior Raegan Bremer tied for 14th at that tournament to lead two Cougars among the top-20 leaders.
ABOUT THE COUGARS
Head Coach Gerrod Chadwell recently unveiled the team's starting lineup for this week's tournament. Sophomore Megan Thothong, freshman Leonie Harm, junior Emily Gilbreth, sophomore Yuka Kajiki and Bremer will represent the Cougars.
For Friday's First Round, the Cougar will compete in threesomes with student-athletes from Furman and Texas A&M off No. 1. Bremer will start the day at 10:45 a.m. (CDT) with Kajiki (10:54 a.m. CDT), Gilbreth (11:03 a.m. CDT), Harm (11:12 a.m. CDT) and Thothong (11:21 a.m. CDT) following. Complete First-Round pairings can be found here.
This season, Thothong leads the Cougars with a 74.25 scoring average and nine rounds of par or better. The Dallas native successfully defended her individual title at the UNF Collegiate earlier this month and has recorded five top-20 finishes in eight tournaments.
Harm joined the team at the semester break. The Gerlingen, Germany, native tied for 20th at the LSU Tiger Classic in her most recent competition.
Gilbreth has competed in all eight tournaments to date and stands second among the Cougars with six rounds of par or better. The Bellaire High product shared the individual title with Thothong at the UNF Collegiate earlier this month for the first title of her collegiate career and has posted four top-20 finishes this year.
Kajiki ranks third on the team with a 74.67 scoring average and five rounds of par or better. She enjoyed a season-best ninth-place finish at the Jim West Challenge in the fall, closing out that tournament with a Final-Round and season-low 68.
Bremer moved into second on the team with a 74.42 scoring average with her recent play at the LSU Tiger Classic. A two-time member of the All-American Athletic Conference Team, she has enjoyed five top-20 finishes in eight tournaments to date, including a season-best sixth-place showing at the UCF Challenge to open the spring.
